moonstone-studded ear trumpet of poet and artist Ethel Anderson

You know, I don't think I've ever seen one of these outside of a cartoon. A clever solution, you have to admit. Mine would be all banged up and tarnished, though.

Ooh. I want one. I need one. Ruby-encrusted.

I think dad needs one. Maybe done in RealTree.

I need to get the Dads one. The damn VA payed a few thousand dollars for his hearing aids, and the motherfucker keeps forgetting to put the tiny things in. Bet he wouldn't forget the ear trumpet!

I would have one and I would hold it up and say, "Aaaiieee?" when I wanted someone to repeat their statement.

"What was that, sonny? Speak into the trumpet!"

Not nearly as pretty: http://cgi.ebay.com/1880-Otophone-Ear-Trumpet-Box-/200521573790?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eb004659e

No, much more the practical option. Still pretty handsome, though, really.

Until you bedazzle it.

Ear trumpets are cool. Evelyn Waugh had one and some duchess (I forget who) used to get his attention by banging on the end of it with a spoon...

That's got to have been annoying.
