Lion Around

There's not much room on a circus wagon to pack chairs and stuff. Easier just to use what's already there.

Mademoiselle Scheel with lions, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus

I like her look. I wonder what happened to her.

I really really really really want to do what she's doing. Sitting on a contented lion, that is. Not performing in a circus.

Ahhhh, more lion pictures. Love 'em.
Sorry they're all in jail, of course.... At least Mlle. Scheel and the lions have each other....

Now that is a perfectly perfect photograph and I love it. The girl, the lions, the casualness of it all while at the same time, so magnificent.

Honestly, you should hit the from link on this one - it was very hard to choose my favorite from Glasier's circus photos.

m: I do, too, but in trying to find out I did discover that the lion's name was Prince.

Leila: And the lion looks so proud of the whole thing. The one lying down looks like she's weighing the photographer for dinner plans.

A: Not exactly solitary confinement.

Mama: You can't go wrong with lions.

That's what Owen will look like on his lion! (Sans circus dress, of course.)

He could wear his christening gown.

That is a marvelous idea.
