Mayonnaise Salad

I love this ad, but I fucking hate the kind of salad that is about to be created in it.

Gorgeous ad. Just gorgeous. But what is that little round ball next to the banana? It looks like an avocado pit.

Ermmmm....

Banana, walnut, apple, orange, lettuce (but it might as well be a cabbage from appearance)and Hellman's???

You're having a laugh as we say in south London.

Mama: I think white rabbit's right, I think it's a walnut.

WR: You know, half of this could be the makings of a Waldorf salad, which is a good thing. But when you add in the banana and the orange, it suddenly becomes some sort of horrible mayonnaise salad that I want no part of.

And yea, the ad is super cool~

Of course it's a walnut. I was thinking fruit- and it obviously was not a fruit and there you go.
Listen- I think that would make a delicious salad. But I was born in the fifties.

I'm with you, kid! Mayonnaise on iceberg with banana and orange? GLARGLELARG! Now, let's go to Sonny's and eat some of those delicious coconut bananas and pink salad. I feel a hunger for a wedge of cheese with some bbq sauce on it.

I made Taylor taste that pink stuff not long ago! I said, "It's not ambrosia salad, but it is akin to ambrosia salad."

I am loving this conversation. I was thinking waldorf salad, but the banana threw me off. And we never put oranges in waldorf salad either... But we did put in halved grapes...
I'm with Ms. Moon (and showing my age) - I LURVE the idea of a fruit and mayo salad with crunchy chopped walnuts.
Ambrosia salad - not so much.

What's not to love about ambrosia salad?

DTG - honestly, it's the marshmallows. I LOVE marshmallows but they get soggy and slimy in ambrosia salad...
