I've always loved Popeye. His mumbling, his love for the oddly shaped Olive, his massive forearms. As a kid, my favorite parts of the cartoons were when he'd swallow the spinach and those arms would break out in muscles that became battle ships or explosions, and then POW! he'd knock some jerk's block off. Simple lessons from a simple character: eat right, stay near the ocean, don't take no crap, appreciate your goil.

And Popeye's philosophy is one we can all share- I yam what I yam.
Amen.
Indeed! and he's such a big lug when he's happy... like here, trotting along with his goil. I like spinach too! but my arms don't look like that.
My forearms kind of do, in a funny sort of way.
Did you like the Robin Williams movie version? I like the song Olive sings in that one.
That's like our family movie, Steph.
It's true, I love that movie. At least once a day I find myself singing one of the songs.
"Oh Sweethaven! God must love us!"
He's large.
I always thought that song was a bit... ahem... double-entendric =0o
"I'll have to squeeze him each night to keep him warm (waaarm)..."
He's not a mandolin.... Oh noooo! He's an accordion.... Maybe Jess should take up the accordion.
Have you seen today's google logo?
I saw it at midnight and loved it!
