Oysters, Celery, Olives, Radish, Almonds, Clam Broth, Brook Trout, Potato Parisienne. Apricot Brandy Punch. Larded Tenderloin, Fresh Mushrooms, Potato Croquett, Brussels Sprouts, Romain Salad, Camembert Cheese, French Dressing, Cafe Noir. Mumm's Champagne, Extra Dry. Deinhart and Co.s Famous Rhine Wine. R. B. C. Beer. This is what I am not having for dinner.

I always thought a good dinner party idea is to recreate the titanic menu..but our budget would only extend to the lower class passenger menu...which still sounds pretty good to me

Screamish: I'd love to recreate any menu at that link. I'm fascinated by them. The hotel breakfast menus are the best, food-wise.

I myself had oysters for my birthday last Friday---and pear cognac---and some other delightful things. But nary a larded tenderloin. Does larded mean what I think it means?

P.S. Now that I have an identity, ye'll never get rid o' me...

Okay, so I do have oysters once in a while - the nearest oyster bar is just down the hill from me - but I'm not normally this fancy about it. I assumed larded meant, you know, something something rubbed with lard.
