Did bacon ever look like that? And look at the size of that butter pat! In the middle of the Depression, I bet looking at that cover could make a grown man fall to his knees.

Awesome! I remember when people used to put a huge ol' pat of butter on their canned green beans or peas before they served them. Now THOSE were the days. Which I miss.
I honestly can't imagine buttering my canned green beans, but I can totally see it on peas.
My MIL can go through a whole stick of butter IN A DAY. BY HER SELF.
And in case you were wondering, she is NOT fat. She's about 4'10" and maybe 100 lbs.

I think the butter pat is regular size, the plates were smaller (and therefore the pancakes) in those days. More butter! Less pancake! More bacon! Less whining!
